Jose Ricardo Tadeo Betancourt Linares

Ricardo Betancourt is an award winning Venezuelan-born, bilingual director based in New York, New Orleans, and Washington D.C. He works across commercials, music videos, and branded content in English and Spanish bringing a documentary-rooted honesty to brand storytelling that connects with Latino and youth audiences.
His clients include Honda, Lenovo, Amtrak, Tommy Hilfiger, 88 Rising, Edifier, STARZ, and Capitol Records. His work has been recognized by Sundance (Latine Fellowship), Gotham (Storytellers to Watch), and the Emerging Voices Directors Lab. His documentary short SUDAKAS is streaming on VIMEO and YOUTUBE.

Ricardo started his career as a producer working with companies like Smuggler,DoomsDay, slmbrprty, which gives him an unusually hands-on fluency across the full production process. Ricardo is a proud memeber of Free The Works, Minorities In Film, Emerging Voices Fellow and part of Undocumented Filmmakers Collective.
